Workshop: "Let's play with grisailles"

Workshop led by the Abbey’s heritage guides

Taking inspiration from grisaille stained-glass windows found in Cistercian Abbeys (pared-down glass panels, with no intense colours nor portrayals, with vegetal or geometric patterns – intertwined motifs, diamond shapes, interlaced circles, woven stripes, palmettes) we will create a stained glass panel, painted on rhodoid. Playing with pale hues to colour a Cistercian or contemporary window template*, this workshop will enable you to get familiar with transparency and superposition.

*Various templates will be provided
