From the large car park, the path leading to the new reception offers a breath-taking view of the monastic complex and the north hillside. A small stone bridge leads into the abbey enclosure and the new tea room.
Every weekend and on public holidays, as well as every day during the school summer holidays, from 11 am to 6.30 pm, the Noirlac tea room offers visitors, concert-goers and walkers an opportunity to take a break and enjoy some delicious refreshments.
Cakes and savoury or sweet snacks, made with local produce, lure guests in to take a seat indoors or on the patio. Cool drinks, hot chocolate and a selection of teas, herbal teas and coffees complete the menu. An invitation to enjoy the site differently.
The re-designed shop offers books on the arts, history, architecture and gardens; children’s books; CDs of artists performing or recording at the abbey; gourmet products; wines and beers; calligraphy material and local produce.
The shop is open every day from 1st February to 23rd December, during abbey opening hours.
